Pros
-Local offices are interwoven with other organizations and local goverments, creating great local ecosystems -Lower level employees are generlly progressive, creative, passionate and supportive of one another -The high profile of a well-known, National organization can lead to good work experience in community development field to help build career for entry level employees
Cons
- President and "Field Excellence" Team micro-manage, hindering local programatic work and offering no collaboration, even though on paper that is their role -C-suite leadership and VP's are nearly all ex-bankers, meaning they're mostly interested in keeping the bankers who donate to LISC happy and less interested in innovative, progressive development work -Organization does not promote or approve raises unless someone has been at their role at the org for 3+ years, even after leadership has acknowledged a promtion or raise is deserved -Extremely hierarchal -Tech and IT systems have barely been updated in the last 20 years -The organization refuses to take on any risk whatsoever, even in the name of meeting it's mission
