All the staff I've had the pleasure to work with are extremely passionate, intelligent and so friendly. The culture is very collaborative, even across program areas. What I love most is how caring and thoughtful leadership is. It has made a would of a difference during the current pandemic. LISC had great technology and communication processes/ tools in place to easily transition to working remotely .

Cons

There is a long of work/ initiatives happening at the same time which can be very exciting but also can lead to long work weeks and lots of stress

LISC has no clear vision or strategy and a paternalistic, top-down approach to working in communities. There are rampant microaggressions at all levels of sexism, racism, and exploitation of BIPOC employees who are underpaid with few pathways for advancement. Many senior or middle managers are long-standing white men and women who keep hold of their antiquated fiefdoms. Lots of silos, internal politics, and a culture with no joy. There is now momentum to support social justice / DEI ....which definitely didn't exist at LISC before this "moment." But now that companies are throwing money at it I guess we care.
