      Organization is mission driven and there is a commitment to neighborhood revitalization. Managers have good technical skills, but could improve management skills.

      Cons

      Most information about the organization gets transmitted through a rumor mill. There is some resistance to learning things not related to community development.

      Excellent community based programs, very warm network of regional offices with NY headquarters, good compensation for a non-profit

      Cons

      Typical complaints: management tends to be aloof with ongoing changes in the needs of programs and the officers who must deploy them; a lot of "training" is too long, too boring, and too repetitive; each department does not work well in concert with the next - this makes cohesive cross pollination nearly impossible
