Pros

LM has a 9/80 schedule which is so convenient! The hours are great - OT is only needed for special projects and end-of-year closing. Each month we can accrue 10 hours of vacation time, and this never expires. Another perk of this company is how easy it is to talk to upper management. This has improved over the last several years.

Cons

The insurance benefits could definitely be better. I have heard the coverage use to be better, but now it covers less. For people with children on their insurance, it almost feels like the insurance is useless. Another disadvantage is the time it takes to get a promotion. Going from a level 1 to a level 2 takes about 4 years, and from a level 2 to a level 3 takes even longer.

Pros

Flexible schedule, vacation, holidays, 401K, benefits, culture are all excellent at Lockheed Martin. This is really a wonderful place for a working mother - great work/life balance.

Cons

I really don't have many complaints. There is not much opportunity for growth or to cross-train unless you are willing to relocate. Omaha has a very small remote site.

Pros

Every other Friday off is nice.

Cons

The pay is horrible. They expect you to work weekends and off Fridays for month end for no additional compensation. The pay is way too low. Takes forever to move up. Pay is a joke. No windows in the building, so its a very depressing environment. Have I mentioned the ridiculously low pay? The only way to get a higher raise is to compete against your fellow coworkers, so you don't really want to help eachother because you need to try to look better than everyone else. There is a stab eachother in the back mentality that makes teamwork hard. The work is repetitive and boring. A monkey could be trained to do it.
