It all depends on who your first and second tier managers are.

Pros

I thrived and enjoyed the challenging work at Lockheed Martin.

Cons

New management was brought in that had little experience performing the actual work. Hence, being-know-it-alls, they failed employees miserably. Also, HR was hell bent on dramantically increasing the number of white women in mangement, no matter how deficient in competence the women were or how much the didn't want to be in managment. There is no mechanism to get rid of bad managers. There are in place until the retire.

Reasonably good benefits, excellent employee-executive communication, good HR department.

Cons

Some people have been there too long, with no added value. Managers need more training, not able to provide direction consistently to staff. Morale is pretty low.

The benefits are top notch. The work environment was exciting and envigorating being around so many younger and extremely talented engineers.

Cons

It was extremely difficult to "qualify" for other positions on other programs which offered any type of learning and/or growth opportunites as hiring managers were just a bit too strict in their requirements for an open position.
