Pros

Awesome feeling to contribute to the success of our defense community. Some super-smart, caring, sincere people to work with and learn from. Good pay and benefits. Blend in and under the radar and you'll probably have a job.

Cons

Management touts a diverse company culture when in reality with a few affirmative action exceptions, the workforce looks and acts like they're straight out of a cookie cutter batch of white, 26-40 year old male yes men. If you don't play the game and pump up your manager often, you get lost in the crowd. If you have real and valid issues with another employee (especially one of the good ole boys) you are labeled as a troublemaker and targeted for termination.

Pros

Work on great programs with great people.

Cons

Expected to take on more and more responsibility with no increase in compensation or recognition. They hire younger people and pay them much lower then their previous counterpart and expect them to do more.

Pros

Great number of opportunities, especially in the DC metro area, with room for advancement and growth; in my experience, managers tend to stress a positive work-life balance and make accommodations to employees (i.e., flexible hours, telecommuting)

Cons

Training budgets have been slashed; salaries have been mostly flat for the past few years
