Pros

Work life balance (flexible, part time, remote options) Internal mobility Training opportunities (this has expanded a lot recently)

Cons

Processes are very slow and inefficient. Campuses are all cube farms. Not an attractive work environment at all compared to other companies in the bay area. Politics politics politics. Approvals for everything and take forever. Unwilling to use latest tools and technology, and trading good technologies off for sub-par/unproven ones. Management at the top is still stubborn defense minded, unwilling to change. Re-org for every new VP that comes in. Pay packages are improving but still not on par with other bay area tech companies. The end product and work itself is uninspiring. Lockheed makes products for war and lobbies Congress to bribe them to buy more "war" products. They also fund their unethical lobbying practices with employee paychecks.

Good company, bad role

Pros

- great 401k match, if you contribute 8% the company contributes 10% - 4 day work week (10 hours a day) - Flexible hours - Interesting technologies to work with

Cons

- Working fully in person in a classified area, with no remote flexibility - the classified areas have no windows, and not seeing the sun all day, takes a toll after a while, especially in the winter - limited career opportunities, management seems to put you where they need you not what you want to do - in my experience high employee turnover - slow to promote excelling workers, have to meet a time-served requirement - Rural area, not much to do - personally, I feel like I am not learning as much as I would like

Pros

Great for expectations of the role, management will outline exactly what is required for the job

Cons

Upward mobility is more based on time spent at company rather than skill or ability
