      Because a large portion of the work done by this company is in support of the US Government it is subject to the US Government budget ups and downs.

      Pros

      Lots of job opportunity, especially for early career. When I wanted to move, I was able to relocate with the company and experience another business area and product line. I have transitioned from an engineering career to program management, with lots of leadership development opportunities.

      Cons

      The higher you go, the less opportunity there is (naturally, think pyramid)... or at least less opportunity for you to explore. The job openings start to come to you rather than you going for them, so if you are ready to move and there are no openings, you are basically stuck.
