Pros

No particular order: 1. Work/Life Balance 2. Salary 3. Broad range of projects/programs (depending on job function) 4. Ability to "jump" careers within a single company (e.g. RMS, Space, MFC, Aero could be considered sub-companies within LM) and work on everything ranging from quality assurance, failure analysis, software engineering, manufacturing, systems engineering, program management, propulsion systems, radars, combat ships, missiles, satellites, wildfire prevention, and so much more! There are honestly so many diverse roles within a single company it is incredible. 5. Community Involvement / volunteering opportunities 6. Strong collaboration with academia, different business areas (RMS, Space,...), industry, etc. 7. Many diverse work locations (Sunnyvale, CA; Palmdale, CA; Ft. Worth, TX; Grand Prarie, TX; Marietta, GA; King of Purssia, PA; Stratford, CT; etc.) 8. The company has over $150B dollars in backlog which will provide years of work for employees. In addition, they continue to grow and secure sizeable contracts from around the world leading to their $67.6B in net sales in 2023. 9. Job security

Cons

In general, the pro's heavily out weigh the cons. 1. Working with union can be challenging at times 2. May encounter co-workers who seek the spot light vs. working as team 3. May encounter leadership team members with different views on promotions/years of experience required (e.g. must have "X" years of experience before being promoted to "Y" level, as opposed to promoting based on knowledge, results, etc.) 4. If you're a high performer and leading high profile projects/programs you can find yourself working more than 40+ hours per week. Some may find this as a negative but when you are younger this can truly accelerate your career and be an opportunity for you to deliver results that far exceed your peers.
