Pros

Loved my job as a technical instructor for the Army. Decent compensation package, decent pay. outstanding market penatration in defense sector. Works with smaller companies to partner on contract submissions.

Cons

First line manager was outstanding, however those above him were out of touch, disconnected, and seemingly uncaring as to challenges employees face. Human Resources performed poorly supporting employees. law suit phobic..... opened several investigations based upon complaints submitted by disgruntled employees. HR badgered employees to discredit management.

Pros

Benefits, holidays, flex-time, most of the people I work with are great

Cons

The performance review system is ridiculous, even after it was re-worked for the 2012 year. Your direct manager obviously has no influence over your rating or merit, and I've acutally been told this by previous managers in the past on the old system and it is true for the new one as well. I've seen new college grads that are hired have luck with a decent starting salary and merit increases, but others can definitely be placed under a "black cloud" at no fault of their own. High turnover of the younger, new college grads even after a decent starting salary.

Pros

Some parts of Lockheed treat their employees very well, very good Ethics department, overall benefits very good

Cons

Lockheed is a very fractured company and i am sure people reading about Lockheed are confused when they read reviews at web sites like this one. Lockheed divisions have different work weeks, pay bands in other works the Salary grades are standardized but the actual high and lows for the same cities can vary 15%. Work week varies, holiday schedule, amount of money you contribute to the health plan as well as the actual plan. Pay for performance merely means you will probably get more than the guy that performs less however they do force managers to put all their employees into groups poor good better best so someone has to be in the poor group pretty much no matter what. Managers are overworked some have 30+ employees to manage in addition to an actual job, plus now managers have to manage employees user accounts and new hires. The current process for reviews LMCommit is roundly hated by everyone but especially managers for them to do their job right for every employee would take weeks of unpaid work.
