Pros

I thought Lockheed would be a good place to gain work experience. The development programs interested me. I'm told Lockheed is a very stable place to work and you have job security.

Cons

Most lockheed employees are older. As a college hire very few people are my age. The percentage of female employees is much lower than that of other companies. Working in a classified environment sucks.

Pros

The base pay directly after graduation is good. I cannot speak to what it will be like when I have a few years experience, but I hear the pay scale and promotions are curtailed shortly after

Cons

Overtime gate (not getting paid for certain overtime) Some managers aren't as flexible with the hours you work. This varies by manager. There is often a lot of needless steps and paperwork to do anything. They could benefit from a streamlining for new employees.

Pros

Great opportunities to try different facets of engineering. I'm originally a Software Engineer by trait but the company has allowed and encouraged me to dabble in Systems Engineering as well as Systems Administration. You truly get a great breadth of knowledge and appreciation for a company when they encourage their employees to see new things and work in an area they prefer and want to be in.

Cons

There is an ELDP program throughout Lockheed Martin designed specifically for engineering which identifies potential technical leaders and puts them through a rigorous training curriculum. The issue with the program is there was an inconsistency amongst Lockheed branches as to how the course was structured. Some members at certain sites had no technical curriculum to go through while others (ie- Syracuse NY, Moorestown NJ) had to dedicate nearly 30 hours weekly for course related work.
