Pros

Sometimes the work is cool.

Cons

Upper management will try to take advantage of you, add responsibilities for no further compensation, drag feet on promotions etc.

Pros

We truly have a well educated and passionate group of people. Plenty of freedom to work how you like as long as the job gets done. Flex Hours, Above Average pay, and good education benefits. Easy to make this a career.

Cons

As a large corporation, they aren't as agile as they could be in a more decentralized format. Upper management (Lightfoot) has explicitly made this a focus recently.

Pros

Job is stable and workload is not overwhelming. 401k match is great. Healthcare is okay. Coworkers are friendly.

Cons

Workspace is unsatisfying in some places. Work can be slow between deadlines. Upper management isn't always on top of planning things out. Gaining access to new tools and software is a slow, painful process.

Pros

Very relaxed work schedule and full remote. Junior developers are more helpful than seniors. Seniors were dinosaurs Flex 4x10 is the best thing here. Every Friday off.

Cons

Upper management / Senior leaders. Senior leaders focus solely on their project (this is how they got to their position). There is no empathy if your manager placed you on 3+ projects. You're gonna get worked to the bone at LM ATL. If you're lucky enough to be on just standalone 1 project, you've won the lottery. Pretend to be busy. Promotions are mostly stagnant unless you're at the Cherry Hill office where the managers are. If not, you successes will get no visibility. If you do get promoted to senior engineer, you have to be OK with 3% raises every year for the next 15 years before you are considered for managerial! Quarter of the staff that work here have been there for 15+ years and they are only L4. The management is filled with "its not about the pay, it's about helping the warfighter". BTW, we don't get mandatory Veteran's Day + Labor Day off! If any of that entices you, make sure you're good at writing because you will be working hard and spending 60+ hours a week getting that next proposal win so your team looks good at the next lab's all hands!!
