When you travel to taiwan or china, you expect to work a lot of hours and get the job done. There is constant communication problem between US and offshore engineers. You may have a design review at offshore site. You are the only person travel from the US and tons of asian engineers sitting in the conference room critique your design. It is not a good ad easy relationship. Product development time line is really short. One project is about 9 months. It started in sept, by march of next year, you better al nail down the issues, because validation coming up next few months, then production in summer and ready to ship worldwide for december holiday season distribution.
