Pros

Medical, dental, and vision benefit options are plentiful.

Cons

Micro managed by many different levels including management and then facilities you work in. Must run any important decision by management and it hinders patient care. Cannot make any medical decisions without running by PCP and then may not be what your management wants and then you are stuck in the middle being blamed for hospital admissions. Your supervising physician is never in contact. You have a general physician shared by 20+ other APPs who share a weekly meeting presenting cases yet, you will be held responsible for your contracted supervising physician that you are never allowed to so much as call or email. They can change your facilities at any time making you drive over an hour to get to them. Group work private text system ends up being a social chat that distracts during patient visits, told not to turn off in event emergency questions arise. So while you are seeing patients 10-20 NPs are saying happy birthday or congratulations to each other. Told “it’s there culture” to be interrupted. No email etiquette, management promotes a reply all system, so everyone gets everyone else’s thank you responses, etc. Out of 30 some Michigan market NPs, only 2 can have same day off or PTO will be denied and no time around holidays can be entered unless you are top seniority NP’s. If the NP assigned to cover you is working, you still cannot take a PTO day if 2 others in a different count have it off. No matter where you’re located, have to drive to Farmington Hills once a month for a 12-4 pm meeting. Social work gatherings focus in Detroit and if you don’t go due to distance after working till 5 pm, you are “excluded” by management as being a “team player”

Pros

Have met some really great people

Cons

the worst leadership. The CCO has no idea what she is doing. Communication is awful across the board. God forbid you bring up any issues or else you'll be blacklisted. Lots of talk but nobody wants to fix the dumpster fire
