Pros

Good place to work on the editorial side. Everybody is professional and does their job well. You are allowed to work and create content in your own style without a lot of second guessing by editors. Hours are flexible.

Cons

The parent company is the typical corporation, looking to cut expenses where they can as ad revenues continue to decline. Newspapers have been and continue to be in financial turmoil, as they have not adapted to the changes over the last twenty years. There may not be a way for them to exist in their current format.

So many smart people at the LATimes. Met lifelong friends, who are incredibly talented.

Pros

News is always happening, fast moving and interesting.

Cons

The management is very unclear as to how to manage people. There are many people who have no accountability when dropping the ball
