Hard work for not enough pay/benefits

Pros

Great trainings, fun co-workers, fun clients.

Cons

No benefits for part-time workers and no commitment to a certain amount of hours. Commission structure (.25% on canvas goods, 1% on leather goods, 3% on hard-sided and exotic goods, etc.) leaves much to be desired. Client advisors receive approximately $3.30 in commission before tax for every Neverfull they sell and are asked to dote on customers with genuine excitement. There are a lot of demands placed on Client Advisors (monthly goals, cross-selling expectations, fragrance numbers, client outreach, etc.,) but the average Client Advisor takes home an annual amount of around 30k. Hourly pay increases have seemingly stopped with the emphasis being placed on "give yourself a raise by selling a high commission piece." The amount of work does not match the pay, and many people stay with the company either to get the brand on their resume or because they love the brand so much. With the head of LVMH, Bernard Arnault, becoming the second richest man in the world, asking for raises, benefits, and better commission structure is not asking too much.

Pros

Looks great on your resume to have a globally known company. Fellow sales associates are amazing! loved the team! Since there's no commission no one thinks about stealing your sales but even if they did offer commission no one was that greedy to do something like that. Some management were amazing. They grew from the ground up so they really helped me advance. They offer a lot of training. So you wont really feel like you have no idea what you're saying and doing.

Cons

Management didn't seem to be on the same board. They were always in survival mode and not advancing the team. Didn't seem like there were many opportunities to move up in the company. No commission and the "Bonus" structure was created for only the flag ship stores employee. Honestly two months into the company i thought to myself... man this company is cheap. $800 bucks for a bag and they cant even give us $2 dollars commission for the bag... as though they want us to believe that it cost $500 dollars for the bag to be made. hahaha.

Pros

The online employee store, meeting people.

Cons

Poor management, favoritism that starts at the top. Not a diverse company, it is very hard to get promoted as a person of color/older/ overweight. I saw so many people being lied to, they hire you as a temp and say that they will convert you to full time as soon as something opens up. I saw people work full time hours for more than a year, the state would force them to give health insurance after a certain amount of time and they still won’t upgrade you to full time. There is psychological abuse with the “ you need to earn the benefits approach”.
