Pros

Like almost all have said, the people that I have met while being here were and are still my best friends. Company cannot take credit for that though. It happened irrespective of the terrible company. Well... maybe they can in a sense, misery loves company and maybe that is why everyone (ground floor) became so close.

Cons

Cons... where do I start. Literally, cannot or do not feel like going through all them. They have been said much better than I can in other reviews. Anyone reading this, save your time and go elsewhere. Or until there is little to no one left in the upper management positions that were there pre 2022 where only the name is left. Probably should change the name after this now though too. To list a few: - Extremely unethical and immoral practices (encouraged to lie and deceit potential customers). -Terrible comp ( I was top 20 in sales in the company). Knew people at other companies during same time making 3x as much. They were not even close to top producers. -Incompetent management (nepotism no merit) - HORRIBLE BENEFITS (this cannot be overstated) - Terrible backend process -ALMOST all positive reviews are fake. They required new onboards, literally in the first week, to leave five start reviews. Not only employee reviews but customers as well. Huge amount of those were fake because they encouraged fake reviews from friends, family, multiple email accounts so you could get your bonuses. Really could name a lot more. *By the way, I am not a disgruntled ex employee who did not perform, got sacked, had a terrible relationship with people at the company and now am mad at the company. Without giving too much away, I moved up the company very quickly and was in the top 20 in production for the company as a loan advisor. I met my best friends and have have a better job. I left, on my own, as this company was terrible. This is just my honest review.

Pros

I have made some very good friends over my time at Lower. We went through the grind and disfunction together and I will continue to stay in touch. The in house barber, Jomar, is the best in the city.

Cons

Lower pay compared to any other company when I first started. We would start with a lower base salary and the commission was significantly lower than competitors. Metrics are changed constantly, and the commission structure is built against employees making money. Incredibly bad work/life balance. There are so many empty promises from leadership it is hard to name them all. But know this, management will put themselves before the best welfare of the employee any day. Anything to save a dollar while the ship is sinking. I wonder if the Crew stadium will have to be renamed.. Everyone is currently on their way out. Each day you'll hear of another loan advisor going to another company. We all are taking interviews, and most are even leaving the mortgage industry because of how this was handled. A once bustling office, now is a depressing ghost town. When is the next mass layoff? Who are you going to lie to this time? I'm sure Dan, Mark, and everyone at the top got their money, while under paying their employees, and severely mismanaging the direction of the company. If you are reading these reviews, I would highly suggest you looking into any other mortgage company for a job.

Low Life at Lower

Pros

They hired alot of people that were in the process of changing industries, so alot of friends that I could relate to were made. On site barber. Pool table and ping pong table if you had time to use them.

Cons

Honestly I just think the president and CEO knew the industry well enough to be successful, but just aren’t truly capable of making smart business decisions. The only prudent decision they made was the mass layoff to avoid completely going under, which I had to believe was forced on them (they did make sure to make it seem like it was termination based on performance, but hard to believe >75% of your workforce, some of which may have just gotten performance-based awards, are truly terrible employees). There’s definitely a lot of sunk costs they are dealing with (stadium, salary of on-site barber, lease for a lavish building that they have almost nobody in) that I can’t see them really having the ability to rebound from anytime soon. You never see or hear a single advertisement as outside of the likely very expensive stadium naming rights the only real marketing they do is pushing employees to reach out to friends and family/social media (the ole pyramid scheme method). It always had a feel of a company that was trying to be bigger then it was and the shortcomings were always pushed on the lower level employees. (Blaming employees for the fact that 1 in every 25 leads that they push you to take might be semi-qualified to purchase a home). Really the only survivors were the ones who were established in the industry and have since moved on/are in the process of moving on or the people who were willing to work in a very grey area (there are plenty of advisors that will pre-approve people they have no business pre-approving, which results in a lot of stress for all parties involved when a week before closing you’re short 10k+ on funds and other similar issues). I was relieved when I finally got let go and would advise anyone considering this company to reconsider. There are some five star reviews, but from working there I know just how many of this company’s 5-star customer reviews aren’t actually from customers at all.
