Horrible Place to work

Pros

The people that work there are the best part about the job. The friendships you make are genuine, and make the job bearable because without that, there are no positives to working here. The managers on my team were some of the best people I’ve met, but unfortunately that is not the case throughout the rest of the company.

Cons

Upper management has to be the worse I have ever seen. They do everything they can to hide what is really happening with the company by buying pizza and beer for the employees to act as some sort of cover up. The people in upper management have no business being in the position they are in, they are only there because they were decent at sales at the beginning stages of the company when rates were at a historic low and not because they are actually qualified. They try to make excuses for everything bad that happens when in reality, the company itself is just falling apart. When times are tough, the people in higher positions hide their face so that they don’t have to deal with the consequences of any of it and when things are good, they try to be the hero and act like it’s because of them. I have heard multiple cases of VPs and other managers doing questionable things in order to cover their own wrong doings.

Smoke and Mirrors--don't fall for it

Pros

--Updated office, good mission, nice co-workers (most of them)

Cons

--Benefits suck, 401k match is a joke. --Passive aggressive leadership who talk badly about people who leave honest reviews (customers and employees). Don't address the elephant in the room because they keep getting awards when in reality there's crazy turnover happening and mindless layoffs. --Office looks cool but it's a stressful environment full of facades like games/ fun. When in reality, no one plays them and you're pressured to always be at your desk. You're expected to work long hours and get work done with fast turn-arounds, even if others don't do their part...it's on you. --Inconsistent WFH flexibility across teams. Managers even threaten monitoring key strokes if you WFH. --No professional development/ growth opportunities unless you're in sales. --Worst of all, competition/ frat-boy environment is environment. Felt like I was back in high school. --Manager never acknowledged me leaving or thanked me for my work...not once. --Inconsistent recognition/ rewards. --Horrible COVID contact tracing. People aren't informed of exposure, it's careless especially when I know multiple employees have been personally affected by losing loved ones to COVID. Do better.

Pros

- The people: I loved my coworkers. Everyone on my team was hard-working and personable. - Comfy hoodies. - CEO seems like a good guy with positive work ethic.

Cons

For my orientation, I was sold on the idea of a mortgage company making the process easier by having one Loan Advisor hold the borrowers hand throughout the homebuying process. Working as a processor behind the scenes, I watched the company add more and more people into the equation. Borrowers began getting calls from processors, insurance agents, loan advisors, and lending coordinators who have only been in the industry for 2 weeks. I could see borrowers get confused and worried as their closing date continually gets pushed back, with loan advisors reassuring them everything is okay while everyone in "operations" is staying late/pulling teeth trying to get this thing closed. This has put so much stress and extra responsibility on the operations department. I know several people (myself included) who left due to the overbearing micromanaging and expectations. Sales will make huge promises that you are then expected to perform, which leads to this job consuming your life. If you can deal with the stress and terrible work/life balance, you'll be rewarded with a shout-out on the morning meeting. If the loan gets cancelled after all your hard work, you'll have low numbers for the month and make less bonus. Benefits: Below average PTO: You'll fall behind if you take time off
