Good company! Great people - poor compensation

Pros

They've hired great people. I love my team and my managers-- everyone is really smart and sincere. I get to work on interesting problems with a lot of autonomy. Fun activities occasionally.

Cons

Senior management negotiates hard with recent grads and early professionals to bring them in at lower-than-average salaries. If your salary is good or too high when you come in, they don't promote you as fast and you eventually wane to a lower-than-average salary

Thank you for your feedback. We certainly want to create a work environment to keep the world class talent we have here at Lucid by offering competitive total compensation packages (including salaries, bonuses, equity, benefits, perks, and other growth opportunities). If you haven’t already outlined your career path with your manager, that can help give you insight into your growth potential. -Kat

Pros

Yearly hackathon Yearly company retreat Clearly defined company values, expectations from employees and ways to get promoted Individuals and teams are given plenty of autonomy and are challenged to take ownership over their projects and make an impact on the business The company leadership regularly listens to employee feedback and takes action

Cons

The company experiences some common growth pains like a lack of experienced managers and a solid training program for existing managers. Communication and accountability can also be an issue with so many new roles and departments.

Pros

* (Engineering) Very capable, smart people, but a culture of teamwork and inclusion. I feel trusted and capable, but also surrounded by mentors. * Catered meals Monday and Friday * Stocked company kitchen * Beautiful office * VR room (to blow off steam) * Annual company retreat * Great benefits * Annual company 3-day hackathon * Awesome management (open, communicative, available) * Excellent opportunity for advancement and development * Fun technology * All levels of management care deeply about the employees * Well-run company

Cons

* Pay rate leaves much to be desired - of my several offers out of college, Lucid's was the lowest by a fairly wide margin. * While an expectation to work extra hours does not exist, there is a developing cultural pressure to do so. * Open office can be noisy - nothing a cheap set of earplugs or earbuds won't fix, but can be distracting.
