Sinking Ship - RUN

Pros

the pay and benefits are mid-tier some people care about their work and team

Cons

This place is a sinking ship. Lumanity is constantly undergoing change with no clear direction. There’s historically a lot of M&A activity but strategic alignment is lacking. Very top-heavy, leadership is bloated and consistently expands at the top while cutting roles at the ground level in the same breath. I can't even count how many meaningless promotions leadership people got in the past year while they did mass layoffs and cuts to people doing the day-to-day work. And once half your team is laid off, you're just expected to absorb the work. Reorgs happen frequently, always without improvement or positive impact. The company isn't big enough for this kind of mindset and activity to not negatively impact the working team. The culture is heavily marketed as collaborative and employee-first, but the reality is very different. Morale is low across the board, everyone is miserable, and the work environment is tense and disjointed. Cross-functional collaboration is expected, but there’s no infrastructure or culture to support it. In fact, the culture and strategy is quite toxic. Ethical standards are questionable, and HR support is minimal to nonexistent. There are repeated instances of boundaries being crossed with no accountability. Financially the business is bleeding — consistently missing forecasts, lacking any sales or growth strategy, and giving away work without understanding scope or long-term value, hoping that it will yield new sales opportunities that it never does. There’s little transparency around compensation, and bonus or promotion opportunities are rare, despite what’s communicated. This may be tolerable as a short-term role, but it’s not a viable long-term career move for most professionals. I would avoid this place at all costs, especially if you are considering leaving somewhere with stability and insulation.
