Pros

One of the pros at working at CenturyLink was the teamwork and vast experience and knowledge of my coworkers. It was a pleasure working with such an intelligent group of people. Also, the training classes and programs they offered were very good and helpful.

Cons

One of the downsides of working at CenturyLink was the lack of updated office furniture and equipment. Everything was old from the cubicles, carpet, copy machines and faxes. CenturyLink could spend some money to improve the office aesthetics.

Pros

The only pro to working at centurylink is the benefits if you are under the union.

Cons

The cons are too many to list. But Centurylink is one of the worst companies I have worked for as far as how they run the company. The quality of the systems we work with day in and day out, the quality of the service centurylink provides is all but satisfying unless you are in the heart of a very demanding neighborhood, and the policies that are enforced upon the employees are terrible at best. The salary is based on performance within certain standards and if you meet the goals, the pay is decent. But the amount of stress, depression, and quality of service centurylink provides, makes it absolutely terrible to achieve these goals unless you really know how to play some mind tricks to customers in order to retain a customer, or sell a product. The company is very corrupt and doesn't know how to run its business in my opinion, But I am no expert. As a retention agent currently with centurylink the amount of commission I gain is based mainly on the amount of disconnetions I take, and when there are agents in retention or the sales team that neglect to do the job correctly or at all, I have to take a hit for it. The agent that did the wrong doesn't get any sort of repercussion. And 98% of the time that I take a pay cut to my commission for this, is because the agent that did the wrong is a 3rd party vendor for centurylink that does whatever they please to get what they want or avoid the disconnection. When feedback is sent to have the agent corrected, nothing is done because they are cheap labor and centurylink does not care to resolve the issue, but I still take the pay cut to correct it. No accommodation.
