Pros

I love working at Digital Pharmacist and have enjoyed working here since day one. The team has become my second family, Everyone on the team really does care about each other and that is really difficult to find in the workforce. This company is at the forefront of the industry and to be a part of it from the early years is really exciting. I left a very stable job to try something new and exciting and I have found it. The other reviews may seem bad but it is important to note those are reviews from people who have been let go (many for performance issues). With my time with the company, I can honestly say the management is continuously trying to make improvements within the workplace and make it a great work environment.

Cons

Because we are growing so rapidly, things often change and they change fast. That said, you have to be ready to adapt and change directions just as fast as the strategy does. If you are the type of person who can easily adapt and does not like boring, then this place is a great place to work. If you can not keep up, then this place is not for you. In addition, there are communication gaps due to the rapid growth, but you can tell the company is trying to close those gaps.

Thank you for your review. I am glad that you pointed out one of the biggest pros of our company: the people. We have an amazing group of talented folks working on our team who come from all walks of life. The people are what drive our product day in and day out, so I'm glad you recognize that we have an exceptional team working here. We are at the forefront of the industry and have a lot of work to do. Thank you for being a part of our team and making our vision a reality!

Out Of Touch Leadership, Poor Execution

Pros

1. Snacks in the kitchen if you're a prolific snacker throughout the day. 2. Dog friendly, but limited to one employee dog per business day. 3. Showers in the bathroom if you're into working out during lunch.

Cons

1. Leadership that's great at producing exciting visions of the company's future, but awful at carrying the vision out. This leads to serious communication issues, personnel conflict, product issues and delays where customers are paying for products that aren't ready or haven't even been created yet. The company is able get away with this lack of execution because the clientele (pharmacies) are people that are notoriously overburdened in their day to day, lack the technical expertise of business owners in other industries, and don't have time to monitor the lack of service delivery. 2. Lower level managers take their cues from the top and treat people as disposable entities. It's a very slave-driver mentality of "just do what I say" if you're under me because input from anyone lower than your role isn't respected or appreciated, unless it's favorable to you. Once lower level employees realize this they are less likely to be honest with managers who are only going to dismiss their concerns, get defensive, threaten their jobs or use them to scapegoat their own managerial shortcomings. 3. There is little to no collaboration between different areas of the company. Developers, sales, customer service and marketing seem to exist on different planets. It's not necessarily the responsibility of the separate departments. It's just that they've been told to do or say one thing and another department has been told to do or so say one thing, and most of the time, it's designed to hide the poor performance of the company's main product. It's a running joke among the customer service team, after they've been here for a few months, that the product isn't all that good.

Thank you for your candid feedback. Your feedback is concerning for a few reasons. First, we deeply care about our employees. We strive to make sure every team member feels valued, whether that be in a robust compensation and benefits package, new growth opportunities or in-office perks. Our employees are what make our company great because without them, we would not be able to build Digital Pharmacist's amazing product. Second, Digital Pharmacist has seen overwhelming success in 2017. Fortunately, "missed company goals" and "lack of execution" are something we haven't experienced in a very long time. This is because of the team we have built who is responsible for carrying out the company's vision. While things move quickly, and there can often be communication gaps, success is something we have continually seen, and also discussed in company-wide all-hands and smaller team meetings. If you disagree, any member of our senior leadership team will gladly walk you through these details. Lastly, as a current employee, there are many channels for providing your feedback to impact positive change; you can speak to your manager or any member of the senior leadership team about your concerns. It is only in this way that we can fix any issues that may be arising. We recommend you do so if you have not already. We want to be a company that can continually learn and grow from employee feedback and experience, so please do seek one of the suggested open lines of communication so we can best address concerns.

Good People, Disappointing Management

Pros

The people are the only reason to stick around this company. Everyone is very friendly and outgoing. They are pretty much your second family. The office has recently gotten remodeled and is very comfortable and has surface level upgrades that look very nice.

Cons

1. There seems to be a lack of direction from the top down to the bottom. Upper management has all these ideas and they really give no instruction on how to execute them. These issues cause a lack of cohesion from marketing to sales to support back to the C team. 2. There is a training problem at the company with sales and the CS team. There aren't any consistent training methods being used and that causes new employees to learn as they go and create bad habits. 3. Once you get hired to a position at the company, there really isn't roadmap or plan for growth after awhile. This causes a lot of unhappy workers and negativity in the office. The people who do get promoted do so to positions that they either don't want to do or have no experience in doing. This harkens back to the lack of true leaders at the company. 4. One last thing, there are a lot of promises that are made from the C team that aren't plausible or realistic. This causes a lot of empty hope and a lot more extra work for the day-to-day employees. If you get hired beware what is promised to you because there's a good chance that they won't come true.

Thank you for your response. We wish that you would have brought up some of these concerns with your manager or senior leadership during your time at the company, as we may have been able to remedy some of these issues through an open dialogue. However, we hear your concerns and are always working to continually improve our company. Some themes that you mention in your review are extremely valid, and we appreciate your candor. We have seen tremendous growth for our team and are not immune from experiencing growing pains. As a fast-paced startup that is growing exponentially, it can often be hard to stop, organize the game board, and move forward. This is something we will continue to work on as a company when it comes to themes like opportunities for growth, career progression and communication. We only ask for patience, and fierce feedback to your management team, so we can make appropriate adjustments if necessary.
