Pros

Talented engineering team with lots of great experience and character. Frequent 1 on 1s with engineering leaders/manager. Manager genuinely invested in personal growth. Good business prospect - large market waiting for disruption, good margins.

Cons

Yes, you need to know how to work hard to thrive here. You need to know how to be adaptable and work as a team. That should also be a given/obvious, since it's an early stage start up. I think this dawns on some people after the fact and leaves a sour taste in their mouth when they leave/get let go.

Pros

Everyone is tackling a huge challenge and super customer focused. Lots of mental flexibility and happy customers giving references. Hard working people mission focused on doing the right thing.

Cons

Culture is an ongoing discussion, but evolving with the company. Communication is improving and processes are shaping up but yet to coalesce across departments.

Great place to grow and learn

Pros

1. Minimal hierarchy allows you to take on more and do great things. 2. The company rewards performance more then seniority. 3. Promotes people from within. 4. Smart, friendly and approachable people who you can learn a lot from. 5. Truly committed to doing the right thing for the customer in an industry where that is not the norm. 6. Great office conveniently located in downtown San Mateo and the company provides free parking.

Cons

1. Can be chaotic at times given the company is growing fast and is still developing its internal processes. 2. No free lunches and the snacks are pretty unhealthy. 3. Lots and lots of work to do but that is the price you pay for growth I suppose.
