Pros

Flexible work environment, opportunities to work with a variety of patients, autonomy in managing your schedule, helpful support team, and access to learning resources.

Cons

Compensation does not reflect the advanced degree required for a Doctor of Physical Therapy. Expectations for recruitment roles are high but not supported with a competitive salary. Limited opportunities for growth within the company, inconsistent communication, and lack of comprehensive benefits.

Pros

1. You schedule your own patients which is super flexible. 2. No supervisor at all, take time off when you want, just call your patients and move them to other days, no approval from anyone needed. 3. nice patient population, 80% patients are medicare and they are 80+ y/o. The other 20% are self pay or commercial PPO. They are very nice to you. 4. No one gives you any pressure to meet any productivity. Same pay rate for every case. 5. Pay is non-negotiable, flat rate. Good as a part time/PRN job. 6. You get to choose what kind of cases you want to see, like ortho/neuro/pelvic/vestibular....., if you choose ortho only, then you won't get neuro cases. This is not something home health company offers. 7. Easy documentation system in your phone.

Cons

1. No medical/dental or other insurances, and you have to buy liability insurance on your own. 2. No reimbursement for gas/mileage. And due to their 30 min radius driving time, you can drive very far during non-busy hours like noon time. 3. No PTOs. every time off is non paid. And no holiday pay, of course. 4. No continuing education reimbursement unless you have the availability to work 20 hours or more in a week. 5. Sometimes you need to do customer service on your own. For example, the Luna concierge team accidentally schedule you a patient which is actually not your specialty after your eval. Then you need to explain to the patient and then contact Luna concierge team to transfer the patient to appropriate PT. Furthermore, if you decide the patient should be a home health case instead of an outpatient case, then you need to discharge the patient and ask the patient to find a home health company on their own. 6. Everything is in Luna app. The pay, the documentation, the communication... everything. Sometimes the Luna team reply after 2-3 days when you have something urgent. Or You try to send your patient the HEP but the patient live in a poor internet connection area and you need to refresh the app several times in order to send it before you leave.

Luna Physical Therapy Response

Thank you so much for taking the time to review Luna—we truly value your feedback. Some of the initial points you raised are unfortunately inherent to working as an independent contractor. That said, your concerns about inappropriate concierge actions and delayed app responses are very concerning. A 2-3 day delay for urgent matters is absolutely not acceptable, and we want to address this immediately to ensure a better experience. If you’re comfortable, please reach out to us at success@getluna.com with additional details so we can investigate and prevent similar issues in the future. Thank you again for sharing your thoughts—we greatly appreciate it!
