Pros

Some paid holidays, early release, socialrecognitions

Cons

Bad supervisors and managers, specially in Employment program. Lack of honesty, professionalism and too much absurd paperwork due to the several nonsense policies that the manager implements. They don’t make difference between goals and objectives, unbelievable, the goals of the department change every month. Most of the staff are foreigns, recently arrived into USA, and they don’t know too much about adequate costumer services techniques, and they are lacking of accurate English language skills.

Pros

free parking, my co-workers( the five I knew) tried their best to help parents and children.

Cons

When I was hired in I learned that there existed some kind of battle between LSF and the parents. That we had to WIN in court and LSF was always right and the parents were the ‘enemy’. I could not believe what I had gotten myself into! I could not believe this was the culture here. I wondered each day what would my manager ask me to do while I was still in Case Manager Training....when the instructors told us you can't work alone and transport children alone because you haven't finished the training. The Class instructors said YOU ARE NOT CASE MANAGERS YET. DON'T GO OUT ON AN ASSIGNMENT ALONE.YOUR MANAGERS SHOULD NOT BE SENDING YOU OUT ON ASSIGNMENTS. I returned to the office that same afternoon and was told to transport a child( on my own) from one foster parent home and meet up with another. it was getting dark but luckily the foster parent showed up. she showed me a document and I gave her a child. I was terrified at this point. I did what my manager asked. The next week I resigned.- too much stress. I could not believe the kids hung out all day in offices too. Another aspect of being a Case Manager was adolescent kids tagged along with you while you were working. They were with you at the courthouse ( working on another case) or in your office because they had no where to be placed during the day. OMG. I could not work that way! When I was hired in I was sitting on the floor when not working because I had no desk no chair no computer. worst job EVER.
