Pros

The benefits are great and they have tried to make the building a nice place to come to work in. The people doing the work are for the most part good colleagues.

Cons

There are so many problems but they stem from one common issue, poor communication. There is no training in place for new hires, no annual reviews, no career development, no feedback on how you are doing, no discussion on long term plans for the company (the management is really two people and what happens when they leave?) and nothing in place that welcomes new people or lets others who are there know what the new people have been hired to do. The worst part is most of the people there seem to agree this is a problem, but no one wants to bring it up to the management as they don't want to rock the boat and/or are convinced the management doesn't see it as a problem.

Management style needs to change

Pros

Management has worked very hard to make this a good place to work and appears to care about the people. The company has established a niche market and is enjoying success and they are willing to share that with the employee's.

Cons

The explosive growth has created a company that cannot be managed the way it has been in the past. It is difficult to know where you stand when you are not given clear, or any direction. Feedback on your work is not provided and does not seem to be encouraged. Training is non-existent, as is career development.

Pros

If you're good at what you do and a team player, you can advance quickly, and the pay is pretty good, the benefits are great, and lots of work lined up means decent job security. It's a cube farm in a new, high-tech building, but the corporate style is (still) relatively loose, and for the most part people are friendly and helpful.

Cons

Explosive growth in the recent past, and ongoing, means people are getting stressed out, and new hires get thrown into the trenches with very little orientation. Advancement used to be almost totally merit-based, and the company would put a lot of effort into developing people who had potential - now there's a lot more emphasis on paper, i.e. certificates and resumes.
