High Turn Over and Low Pay

Pros

The PTO is probably the best reason to work here. In addition to the small town feel. The company is right off of the highway close to CT and RI.

Cons

The pay and yearly raises are so low that many people leave the company to go to Hanover for a raise and come back to MAPFRE. There are little training programs so you feel completely lost when you get into a new position. The upper management and HR doesn't care about you or you concerns. This is obvious because all employees can see the turnover. The company is hiring people outside of the P and C field just to fill positions, so the minions who get paid nothing are carrying all of the new management! It's very frustrating to watch and greatly run company run into the ground since it was bought out by MAPFRE.

Thanks for taking time to share your feedback. We frequently hire and promote from within so if you're current job isn't a good fit, keep an eye out for open positions that might better meet your needs. For any concerns you have, each department is equipped with an HR Manager whom individuals can call on at any time to share insights or issues, in addition to your supervisor or manager.

Pros

MAPFRE Insurance offers the opportunity to work with great people who care about the success of the company, they have excellent benefits, exciting ever changing work, and stability

Cons

No option for telecommuting, no bonus incentive for meeting goals, work life balance is not always possible given the workload.

Pros

Free coffee/tea, including a couple Keurig machines (bring your own k-cup though). Amount of PTO/vacation time given upon hire is substantial, though does not increase significantly from there. Close to highway and many places to eat nearby for lunches including a new variety of food trucks that come to the parking lot - if you are able to get away from your desk.

Cons

Upper management has swelled ridiculously, yet the actual front line employees has declined. There is a lot of miscommunication, distrust and unreasonable expectations. The company is regressing, nor progressing, in every aspect. The employees are not treated well, there is no such thing as positive reinforcement or encouragement anymore. There aren't a lot of incentives in any form. The work environment has become unbearable.

We appreciate the insight into your experience at MAPFRE and we're happy to hear you like the new food trucks that regularly visit us here! As you might know, we have recently taken on new business opportunities and frequently promote from within. Factors like these might contribute to the sense that the front line employee level has decreased. However, as we grow, we do continually recruit for new and replacement positions. We encourage you to take advantage of the bonus opportunities through our employee referral program and help recruit qualified team members.
