Pros

The Consulting Team: I've never been a part of team that is willing to share knowledge, experience and gotchas quite like the mcaConnect team. Working with driven, hard-working folks has opened my eyes to a wealth of growth - both personally and professionally. The Executive Team: Whether it's a pit-stop by your project to say hello, or a presentation on new initiatives in the company - I truly get the feeling that they are passionate about their employees and want to make the Manufacturing, Consulting and Dynamics AX world a better place. Growth and Development: Like I mentioned above, the team is solid and supportive - but what really drives performance and the will to learn more - are the plans and goals that each consulting manager takes the time to craft with each of their reporting consultants. At the beginning of each year, I know what's expected of me - to be better, learn more, help others and develop myself as a professional. It's a challenge - but a refreshing and rewarding attitude for a company to portray. Recognition: Simply put - work hard and you will be rewarded. I've been with mcaConnect for 3 years now, and each year I have worked my tail off to be better and meet my goals. And sure enough, each year my manager and the executive team have come through and recognized my hard work with career advancements, salary increases and bonus opportunities. Being an AX consultant isn't easy, but the management team is never shy to give a pat on the back - and it's just what a consultant needs to keep on going.

Cons

Nothing outside of your normal challenges when it comes to implementing software

Pros

Forget the Army. mcaConnect is the toughest job you’ll ever love! mcaConnect’s motto is “Innovative Solutions. Exceptionally Delivered.” They deliver. mcaConnect is consistently a top Microsoft partner. They “exceptionally deliver” through a tri-goal of customer satisfaction, employee satisfaction, and Microsoft satisfaction. Ultimately, of course, this all derives from the employees – so, what do they do for the employees? - Professional development. At any other employer I’ve had, any degree of professional development can only mean that a person is looking to leave. At mcaConnect, it means we are working toward fulfilling our Performance Plans. - Team atmosphere. In my experience, developing an atmosphere of working together is hit or miss in regular employers, and virtually nonexistent in consulting firms. I started at mca when there was such a thing as having a very good overall knowledge of AX. Now it’s impossible. Typically when there’s a new tool, or facet, or area to learn, a few people will learn it. They will then cross-train their coworkers in a departmental or company-wide meeting, and remain available for questions. - Rewarding quality. There are several innovations implemented to kudos people and reward them for receiving kudos. - Recognizing strengths and weaknesses. We can’t be all things to all people. When I discovered something I could not be last year, my management not only moved me to something more suited, but went to pains to assure me that I was a valued member of the team regardless. - Work-life balance. Never have I seen, or even imagined, being reminded by my director that I needed a “life” part of my work-life balance – until mca. They saw my impending burnout before I did – and stopped it. - Trust. Finally, a less tangible, “fuzzier” quality. There is no team that I would rather be thrown into any work situation with than any member of the mca team. This is my fifth year working at mcaConnect. I’ve been at other companies that long, but not this happily. Recruiters have dug my phone number up, given me a call, and when they find out where I work, effectively thrown their hands up saying, “Well, if you ever DO want to leave…” mcaConnect has a terrific reputation in the industry – for good reason.

Cons

AX is not an industry for the faint at heart.
