      Difficult “family” culture

      Pros

      Good benefits and pay. Some departments are much better, others have not changed in 20 years.

      Cons

      There is favoritism between long term employees regardless of skill and results. Many friends and family working together, supervising each other as well, creating a work “family” culture that is toxic.

      Pros

      The overall mission of the company was great. Safety Company. Selling Insurance.

      Cons

      At the time they weren't super supportive of using technology to do work from remote offices... despite the CEO being big on utilizing the technology available. They tried to promote a work life balance but in reality my departments director only honored that for those she liked. Everyone else she bullied. The culture when I started with the company was amazing. it declined over the years. If they could get back to that it would be amazing for their employees. No flex or make up time abilities. Did have some earlier shifts to help some employees out. Dept director made everything way more complicated than it needed to be.

      Quality Place to Work

      Pros

      Many people have worked at MEM for a long time. It pays decent, provides quite a bit of flexibility, and is a pretty stable company.

      Cons

      Can be hard to move up. The company moves pretty slow. Not the most modern company. It has lost some of what made it unique and special over the last few years.
