      heavy work load in claims

      Pros

      great people, right in down town Portland.

      Cons

      have to pay for parking, claim load is extremely high, pay is not that great compared to other companies. most of the pay incentives have been phased out. High turnover that leads to the other employees picking up the slack. they offer a great time off package but it is not possible to take time off without falling behind.

      Everyone's on a sinking ship together

      Upper executives are in their own world and are out of tune with actual issues within the company/business. They will have no problems giving you the work of 3 other adjusters and just expect you to get it done along with your own work in the same amount of time.

      It is unfortunate that your time at MEMIC was not an overall positive experience. One of the great aspects of MEMIC are the people and sense of purpose everyone brings to the work of keeping people safe and returning injured workers to health. In the claims department, we are constantly searching for methods to evenly share the workload by rebalancing the caseload. If you haven’t spoken with your manager or a member of senior management regarding your concerns, please do so. As you know, one of the five central values of this company is transparency, which goes both ways. Without more specifics, it is difficult to address your comments. Visitors to this web site should know that MEMIC is celebrating 30 years of great success, growth, and opportunity. A sampling of most any review on Glassdoor will give a much more insightful sense of the company that so many enjoy as team members. MEMIC works hard to ensure that all employees enjoy working here.       Pros

      Today is my one year anniversary with MEMIC. I do not live in the Maine area, and was unfamiliar with MEMIC when I took the position. I am so Grateful I took a chance and came on board. The culture is positive and non-discriminatory. I feel valued as both a person and an employee, it sounds cliche, but it is the truth ! The work live balance is outstanding, the benefits and pay are competitive. I would recommend anyone that is considering accepting /applying for a position to DO IT ! You will not regret it.

      No place is perfect, but for me, this is as close as it gets. No specific "cons" come to mind.
