      Pros

      Very well known as a place that still values work-life balance. Lots of wonderful people to work with. Great retirement benefits. Work is challenging. Many training opportunities.

      Cons

      Needs improvement in communication from the top management. Seems as if we are often reacting instead of being strategic. Hard to do your best work without clear picture of where we are going.

      Pros

      The work can be intellectually challenging and interesting. The people in most part are good to work with. The work life balance is actually important and is adhered to by company policy and culture. Education and training are considered important, the company will provide significant investments, much more than other companies I have worked for previously.

      Cons

      Very much an old boys/gals network, many people have worked at MITRE for more than 20 years, some for more than 30 years. You need to fit in, otherwise you will struggle finding projects. To fit in you have to perform well but not too well, be part of the team, and be careful about making waves. Depending on the project and the task, the work can sometimes be tedious and a boring. Since people have been there for such a long time, MITRE is not a place where you can expect rapid advancement on merit alone.
