Pros

Benefits are great and some coworkers were like family

Cons

After several years at the company, they decided to start moving operations to Tempe. Management had preferential treatment to employees and titles were given to those with years rather than genuine knowledge.

Pros

PurePoint genuinely cares about its' employees, clients, and the community. There is a huge sense of autonomy and connectedness that exists in the culture here. At anytime, you can pick up the phone and call the Managing Director or even the President of PurePoint if you wanted. They love hearing from us, are humble, and seek ways to take our feedback and enhance/address any areas of opportunity for the company and the culture. They truly understand that in order for us to be a strong company, we must grow together. One of the best ways they influence that is by being approachable, available, and open to feedback and suggestions (even if its tough feedback). At PurePoint, you get the chance to be as creative as you want to be when it comes to working in your community and your clients. They truly understand that each community is not "cookie cutter" and you get the chance to involve yourself in events and activities that you are emotionally connected to. You are not forced to "sell" products to clients. Our goal is to help our clients grow their savings and to give them a memorable and GREAT experience every time. PurePoint strongly advocates for its employees to accomplish their dreams personally and professionally because they are intentional on hiring the right leadership with the right attitude. and offer training and consistent coaching sessions. You have one-on-one sessions frequently and consistently with your management and market executive. Your coaching is tailored around your skills and what you want to accomplish (they do not force or impose their views during your coaching sessions). The leadership team is constantly seeking ways to help us to become stewards of the company by helping enhance our insight into the industry and providing opportunities where you stretch your thinking and grow. I've personally never had a day where I wished I were working somewhere else! In fact, PurePoint has changed my perspective on being a banker and I feel my contributions are noticed and celebrated. I feel as if I am growing professionally and personally; I am challenged with something valuable every single day; I have the best leadership team that supports and encourages me; and I have the best team imaginable. It's like a family here, and I absolutely love it!

Cons

There are no cons about working for PurePoint. In time, there will be more locations and more opportunities for folks to expand on their career path goals. We've only been opened for 2 years, so as we expand, I do see there will be more opportunities for promotions and more physical locations.

Pros

Pension plan is good if you can last long enough to collect the benefits. Reorgs happen freely and if you are perceived to be not pulling your weight or you are not a favored by your boss then your position is suddenly eliminated. Vacation policy is above average but the workloads are so high that you can only afford to take a day at a time. They have a lot of employee engagement events and professional development opportunities to help get involved and develop yourself but you won't have the time to participate let alone take a lunch period. Very common to eat on the go, at your desk or in between meetings.

Cons

It is a Japanese company based out of Tokyo and the culture is very formal where the norm is to come in, put your head down and work. There is very little socialization with those around you or you will disrupt others who are trying to work. You are encouraged to turn people in to the Integrity Hotline if you see people doing non work related activity, or accessing non work related websites because it is expected that you produce work for the company 100 percent of the time. Having a high work ethic that includes working during evenings and weekends and checking emails on vacations will get you praise and is expected once you get in the Analyst, AVP, VP and Director levels. A lot of organizational silo's and a high degree of micromanagement and you will need to be able to account for how you spent your day on a separate time tracker.
