Pros

The team here is amazing. Everyone is smart, hard-working and fun. There is a big focus on culture and people. Lots of opportunity for growth and learning. Strong leadership team and CEO.

Cons

Not a 9-5 job. While there IS a total respect for work life balance here, you work really hard. Don't apply if you are not willing to put in extra hours when needed.

Amazing Interview and Onboarding Experience

Pros

I had a wonderful interview process where I was treated well from beginning to end. Candidate experience is so important and MR made sure to keep that in mind. My onboarding experience has equally been fantastic. I've worked at companies where you fend for yourself from day one. I'm happy to say my team came up with a schedule for my first two weeks to include important meetings, meet and greets and also some down time for me to do research on the company and to gather my notes together.

Cons

None that I can think of yet.

Pros

Amazing company values and mission, our CEO is working right alongside us, passionate and realistic, pushing and inspiring. Room for growth, trial and error, and career pathing. Free catered lunches every Monday and for events. Stocked kitchen. Working from home days. PTO. Education/experience fund. Commuter benefits and lyft safety rides. Lack of stagnancy— if it’s not working, we fix it- we reassess. Creative minds, passionate employees. Strong HR team that actively builds and plans events and team building.

Cons

Multiple meetings can be tiresome and redundant, and it seems as though we are working on that. Office location and space, lack of conference rooms. We are growing and might want to visit the idea of moving to the financial district.

Pros

This is a great company if you are wanting to grow in skill, push yourself, and help actually build the company as they are expanding. They have some amazing events for the team, like a chocolate fountain with all the fixings for birthday and anniversaries celebration, holiday parties, and quarterly game nights. The office vibe is fun and open, not your typical cubical feel which is a nice change, though it can be loud sometimes. Lastly, I have to talk about the culture. The CEO, Amy is always around and will walk up and talk to you through the day, and these are genuine conversations which is so rare to find in companies now a days. There is also a vibe of family here, the team lives by the values when they are in building and truly care how you are doing or if you need help with things.

Cons

This business is so new that there is not a lot of structure yet for role clarity or a growth path, though it is known that this is being built. Training is also a bit unclear, no structure and is all learn on the fly for most roles.

Pros

Strong culture, Team Oriented, Customer Focus This company packs a punch (in a good way) with its culture! It takes everything seriously and aligns it to the established values. The best part is the values aren't just word on a wall, they are apart of all decisions that are made and people that are brought in! This shows especially now as the world is learning how to deal with a pandemic!

Cons

Heavy on the VP and above leadership

Challenging and Fun

Pros

The environment is suited to those who work collaboratively and cross functionally with different departments. Since they're growing fast, things change quickly and you have to think outside the box to provide solutions to problems. Smart, innovative, and creative team with exceptional leadership. Cool and fun headquarters.

Cons

It can be challenging for those who have worked it very large companies with lots of support. This is a very fast paced environment and not suited for everyone

Pros

The hiring team at Madison Reed is first class. I've interviewed with some of the biggest names out there and the process that MR practices is very effective. They genuinely care about who they bring on board and how they will help serve the overall mission. Looking forward to joining a fun, creative, and bold brand that strives to live out its mission through Love, Trust, Courage, Responsibility, and Joy. It's easy to say the words and much harder to live by them.

Cons

Haven't experienced anything thus far. Although I'm sure there will be some twist and turns along the way.

Pros

Lots to learn - great place for young professionals looking to learn about how to operate a fast growing business. There is a sincere commitment to building the company culture based on the company values (Love, Joy, Courage, Trust, and Responsibility), but the actions often fall short of the commitments. CEO genuinely cares about the business and the people in the company. It shows in almost everything she says and does. Benefits are good - full medical/dental coverage. Stock options if you're lucky. HR team is super nice and really cares about the company - but it's sad how little resources they have to do their jobs (same across all areas though)

Cons

Coaching and feedback is minimal - development sometime feels like a buzzword but not an actual focus for most senior leaders in the company. Too many VPs (there are VPs for all possible areas) and not enough functional SMEs to help in the actual day to day work. CEO is driving the culture - without her there is no culture (I find this scary). Most C-team and VP level only care about revenue and not enough about the people. Too many ideas and not enough execution - C team doesn't understand the importance of strategic planning nor do they have a way to prioritize business initiatives. For a growing start-up there's little emphasis on planning, process, and tools. People just make decisions without understanding the long term impact, leaving lower level employees to handle the execution without support. Sometime you feel like you are set up to fail. Most leaders are short term focused and not enough senior leaders with vision setting and operations experience to make the long range strategy come to life.
