Pros

I was hired by Magaya about 3 months ago to work on exciting digital projects. What caught my attention- and continues to- is the culture here at Magaya: there is very much a "lets try that and see if it works" way of thinking that's combined with a constant search for knowledge, metrics, and a culture of experimentation. Seriously, I see people with books on their desks that I immediately want to gobble those books up because they are so interesting- and that hunger for knowledge seems to come from the top too. There's a heavy focus on metrics and actually knowing what results are coming from marketing. I think most companies, currently lack this type of thinking (huge leg up if you actually care about results and not just going through the motions.) My experience of the management and leadership team is that they actually care about the development and contribution of individual employees- the owners and managers are accessible and open to feedback or new ways of thinking. I've worked at other companies where work politics make it unpleasant and inauthentic- I like that people here are both smart and friendly. I see this as a vision driven company.

Cons

Would like the opportunity to work from home once or twice a week, since I know I can handle to discipline and responsibility. :)

Pros

The company fosters a great work environment with a strong sense of trust and autonomy. Managers give space to do your job without micromanaging, which makes it easier to stay productive and motivated. There’s also a very family-friendly culture—time off for personal or family matters is respected without question, which is something I really value.

Cons

Compensation growth can feel slow, especially for employees who started at a lower rate. Pay decisions are largely handled by HR, which can create disconnects since they aren’t directly involved in the day-to-day work. It would be more effective if compensation decisions involved more input from direct managers who understand each team member’s contributions.

Pros

Amazing team. Good life-work balance. Almost all team members are cubans, which is something I do really like as I'm cuban too

Cons

Some stack tech are outdated, and sometimes it's hard to get some significant advances while developing new features.
