Small company, overworked

Pros

You get experience working in government contracting. Because it is a small company, you get a wide variety of experience.

Cons

There's no real structure. Different teams have different hierarchies. Pay is very low, compared to other companies. There is no HR team. I'm not sure if management is trying to save money, but there are people doing work that is not related to their position. For example, a analyst will begin doing invoices and accounting work. There is also major favoritism. Just hope you're a favorite.

2 weeks of paid parental leave is unacceptable

Pros

A fully remote company (for the most part) is a wonderful benefit. Growing company with lots of different opportunities.

Cons

2 weeks of paid parental leave is the lowest I've encountered in my career. Management should at least double this amount to stay competitive among other employers, encourage talent retention, and create an equitable and fair workplace for all.

Pros

Employees are driven, dedicated and very kind. People care about you here. There are plenty of opportunities for learning new things. It is rare to pigeon holed at this company.

Cons

No real path to advancement. They have made strides, but have a far way to go in making promotions consistent and fair. Projects aren't executed consistently because company lacks overall protocol and procedure for caring projects out.
