Pros

Moderately flexible schedule, laid back office culture, smart and fun coworkers, excellent work-life balance, opportunities for advancement, opportunity to shine, CEO and President have a clear plan for the future growth of the company.

Cons

The opportunities for advancement and opportunities to shine that I mentioned above are dependent upon whether you sink or swim. There is no real training program. New analysts are left to somewhat fend for themselves. The incumbent analysts train the rookie as best they can, but training is piecemeal and haphazard. The data storage system is extremely complicated and learning where everything is takes years. Morale is low among many of the professionals because they either feel underutilized or over stressed. Management can be difficult to deal with and condescending. Since there's no training program, they are constantly being bothered by new employees asking for help or asking questions. They are also overworked and stressed because many of them are head of several departments and stretched quite thin. This is because once anyone is able to stick around for longer than a few years with any modicum of intelligence, they are promoted to a management position whether they want to be or not.
