Pros

-good benefits -laid back atmosphere -great employees / co-workers

Cons

-too much of a focus on profitability / break-even once the new CEO was installed -lost company culture when the new CEO was installed -not much opportunity for upward mobility -very political culture -- people were rewarded based on relationships with upper-management vs performance in their role

Pros

Flexible options for working from home, half of commuting costs paid for, free snacks and coffee/tea/soda, flexible PTO/sick days, bright and friendly employees.

Cons

There is a severe lack of focus on documentation that leads to a lack of training and lack of application knowledge outside of subject matter experts. As more and more subject matter experts leave the company, the software's expected behavior becomes more and more difficult to find out. /// A lack of consistent direction from upper management leads to frequent structural reorganizations. This then leads to a lack of performance feedback and obscured if not absent career growth paths. /// Minimal raises and occasional promotions without increase in pay. /// Work loads are increasing as teams are reduced in an effort to approach profitability (whether through minor lay offs or through churn leading to a lack of knowledge on the team). /// Skeleton crew teams are forgotten when it comes to prioritizing a work/life balance, employee churn is happening due to this and not being addressed effectively. /// Increasing basic duty work load has led to a lack of creative outlets and learning opportunities in the way of relevant project work.
