Pay is not good.
They want people to do A LOT of work for very little, then they want to give you a 1% raise for all your efforts. I am guessing it cant be much higher than that since the "Executive Team" just keeps expanding with random new people. The benefits could be better for a company that has been around for a long time and is on the Best Places to Work list. You are offered health, dental, PTO, etc. but its just mediocre.
They keep people who have been in the same position for 25 years, which wouldn't be a problem and might be beneficial, BUT the people are lazy and no longer fit to do their job. I think the newest President recognizes this and has tried to purge some of the negativity and people who are still using typewrites to complete their job because they wont change their ways or work on being efficient. Managers should have to be accountable for their employees being lazy and negative, but they aren't because most of them are not aware of what is going on around them If you happen to get a mediocre manager, your suggestions, questions, comments, and concerns will be filed in his/her circular file because at Maritz you don't want to draw attention to the flaws. They just pretend everything is fine.
Moving within the company is like pulling teeth unless you know someone willing to help you. OR, they want someone who has TONS of experience and specific requirements, but then tell you you'll get a $2 an hour raise - no thanks.
No departments within the company are ever on the same page. IT, operations, communications, brand, sales...the list goes on. Nobody is on the same page which causes chaos within the company and our clients can see that.
