Pros

Work from home, weekly pay on time, make your own schedule.

Cons

I worked for Martiz for over a year. Within a month of working for them, I became a robot. Week after week, day after day, I read the same script. All surveys are outbound calls. They always had system issues. Although I made my own schedule, I never knew if I was working until I received an email each day around 2pm to see if I was on the schedule. It's hard to have a life around that type of schedule. The supervisors are nothing but a joke. I was harassed by a couple of supervisors for having a southern accent. I would receive feedback from supervisors every week or so. I was rated excellent on the majority of my calls, but a few days later would receive another review of my performance from a different supervisor who would rate my calls negative. The right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing. It was really upsetting to have my calls reviewed positive only to be reviewed negative by another supervisor. Even though I brought my concerns about my performance reviews to the main supervisor, she could care less and nothing was ever done to correct the problem. They pay around $7.00 an hour and expect way to much out of the employees. I never had a paycheck over $100. The low pay barely bought groceries every week. About six months into this job, I became very depressed from the job. I hung on as long as I could, but eventually I had to leave. If you are okay with reading and talking like a robot, being paid very low wage, never knowing if and when you are working on any given day, then this job is for you. Otherwise, look elsewhere.

Pros

You get to work from the comfort of your own home and sort of make your own schedule. Will hire anyone.

Cons

Interviewers only work evenings with no daytime hours. You must work 6 hours on the weekend, therefore, you can't really make plans unless you work both Saturday and Sunday as a split shift of 3 hours per day. Maritz makes calls 7 days a week. The job gets very boring and frustrating after a while. Management is awful. The scripts are poorly written, especially for Enterprise Rent A Car. You are essentially a non sales telemarketer.

Not the same company I started out with

Pros

Maritz was a great place to work for the first few years of my experience there. The people were great and I had a good balance between work and my personal time

Cons

The company I started out with was not the company I finished with. We were getting further and further away from Research and IT expertise. OffShore direction was a path ill-advised but we stubbornly chose to stay the course, even though it was not working. Additionally, our in-house product direction was ill designed and a bottomless pit for cost and ill fit to our customer needs. People became a number and lip service given to career planning and growth. Merit increases were non-existent and people that stayed did so because of the people. However, today, due to the turnover and with research and IT knowledge walking out the door, that is no longer an attraction. "Retirement" of Senior Leaders and the recent "Merger" does not bode well for Maritz.
