Pros

M&S is a big company with lots of room for progression although it may take time to progess from the very bottom.

Cons

You are a little fish in a very big pond. As a student I was seen as "flexable" and "disposable". The reality is that this is true for most people at the company.

Pros

they are an extremely fair company and as long as you can prove that you are a capable member of staff, you will be given extra responsibility. Were very flexible during my studies.

Cons

Personally in my store I feel that not all of the managers were particularly competent at their job. several were very young and i feel did not take the job as seriously as they should which affected the whole store.
