Pros

Competitive salary and benefits are not bad, although they could be improved. Every designer had good chances to learn and to deploy new design techniques. Training are offered regularly.

Cons

Time for completing a design is becoming shorter and shorter and sometime to get these targets the work is becoming very hard. Quality of results are lower than expected. Few career advancement opportunities.

Pros

Very shallow organization. Only 4 levels of hierarchy between engineer and CEO. Entire management chain is highly technical and hands on in most groups. For someone with enthusiasm and motivation there are endless opportunities and possibilities. There is some politics but very minimal.

Cons

Lack of long term product roadmap at the executive level. This results in unnecessary thrashing and schedule pressure at the engineering level.

Lots of good engineers with technical expertise. Benefits are pretty generous by today's standards.

Cons

Executive management extremely paranoid of delegating responsibility. Marketing had little to no presence at guiding company into new markets. Politics trumps engineering judgement often times for key decision-makers.
