Pros

They will hire you right out of school.

Cons

One feels like a cog in the wheel with little appreciation and recognition for individuals performance and concerns. Depends who the owners are if your concerns will be addressed. In my case-my concern about not getting my tips that were left at the front desk were NEVER addressed and simply dismissed as unimportant. Also depends on the front desk employees- beware of them taking tips!!!

Pros

Massage Envy is open every day of the week from 8am to 10pm -- this gives employees an opportunity to work flexible hours. Customer Service interaction Sales experience

Cons

HIGH PRESSURED sales (you are mainly there for one thing and one thing only -- SALES), Depending on the particular franchise owner most don't seem to really care for the actual well-being of their clients -- the care more for the $$ amount and # of clients they have locked into to their hard to understand, manipulative contract. Most sales jobs say a minimum of two objectives in sales pitching -- however, the massage envy I worked at made it a mandatory 3! If you didn't give 3, you lost the privileged to sell. Most clients leave angry and annoyed after their massage -- not because of their massage but because of the chaotic sales pitch after their massage.

Pros

Receive commission on sales, you are in control of how much money you make, get free massage once a week, training makes it very simple for you to do your job

Cons

no schedule flexibility because they don't have enough people working, rude and incompetent management that is very confrontational, have to deal with angry clients due to frustrating policies, pressure to awkwardly make customers buy a membership once they get out of their massage, questionable policies, most massage therapists do not have enough experience,
