Pros

The healthcare benefits for individuals were excellent. Overall, you will be working with extremely intelligent and for the most part great people.

Cons

The CEO leaves you feeling like you're walking on egg shells. And will sell you false promises in regards to salary increases. This company does not stay true to their word. No real HR setup in place, which allows them to jump through loopholes and do shady things in the work place. Beware this company takes advantage of its good hardworking employees. Company also lacks diversity and is mostly a white male dominated company. During the beginning of covid they did not like employees working from home and quickly required everyone to come back into the office. You can forget about any work flexibility in regards to working from home at this company.

Pros

The money is good but that’s about it!

Cons

I worked here on contract for a few months and realized pretty quickly I didn’t want to be here long term. Within the first couple weeks I was sent home for not being clean shaven while other guys walked around with full beards. CEO literally walks around on days he’s pissed off looking for employees to chastise. I was offered a job at the end of my contract but said no thanks!

Pros

-Pay -Benefits (including HSA, 401k Matching)

Cons

I’d first like to acknowledge a review that stated that the reviews are from a single person… that is simply not true because Glassdoor only allows one review per account. So unless one person has 20 different emails/accounts, all the 1 star reviews are from 20 different people. I only know this because I’ve tried to make multiple during my time at Matador and it deletes your previous review. All the reviews are similar because it’s the ugly truth. The 5 star reviews are probably from a VP that’s trying to keep Matador from going under 2.0 stars on Glassdoor. Blunt, I know, but that needed to be addressed. Cons: -Joe Foran (CEO) -All VP’s -All Managers -No work/life balance Joe: aka the CEO from hell. You must watch what you say around him or to any of the snitch VP’s that are constantly kissing his butt because you’ll be escorted from the building in a heartbeat. VP’s: the department VP’s just want to make themselves look good for Joe and don’t really care about their department. Managers: they need training on how to manage employees. They were thrown into management roles and didn’t have the proper training to be a successful manager. This isn’t necessarily their fault, but it makes for an unsuccessful team. They do not have your back and will throw you under the bus to save themselves. Work/life balance: we work 9/80’s and have every other Friday (for the most part) off. The Friday off was great and appreciated, until Covid happened and some of us had to work the Friday we were supposed to be off. Needless to say, my team works about 12-13 hour days most weeks because there’s always something that someone can’t wait the next day for. All in all, if you like money you should work here. If you like being treated like trash, you should also work here.
