There is a lot of commodity between the estimators. I enjoy coming to work as I work with a great bunch of individuals that make every day unique and rewarding. I enjoy the take-off work and complexity of constructability issues, which is different on every project we bid. We are growing our EPC work and it is very rewarding to see you hard work pay off. Matrix does not usually require overtime for the estimating department, not to say that we don’t work overtime. It makes it very nice to have most weekends off.
Cons
The direct management seems to overlook your contribution to the company. Great benefits, pay is below industry.

Decent pay, health coverage, bonuses, good fit for some, others fall between the cracks.
Cons
People are Overworked,everything is last minute, very disorganzied work place. Shallow corporate mentality , just another number. I can't say that much more about it because it such a large company. My experience has been mostly negative. I've been told that I would need to relocate or travel to move up, they have provided me with zero training in the year I've been there. The health care is not great. Things seem to be getting better but I don't know it's worth staying where I'm at. No real opportunity, only those with a bachelor's degree or higher are successful in corporate world.

Good Benefits, good pay if you're willing to learn and be a hard worked. You get sometimes get downtime to chill and rest.
Cons
It can get pretty harsh working in 100+ degree weather inside of a tank that was once filled with oil or gasoline. Hopefully you get a good foreman

"Politics" and personal agendas are very abundant at this employer. If you are not part of the "in" group, don't plan on being appreciated

Good strong growing company, I like the direction we are going, long term employment opportunities are there for people that want to work hard.
Cons
Project managers seem to get recognition and bonuses for work and up sales done by Superintendents. No bonus programs. We are told we will get bonuses that checks just need to be signed but nothing
