Pros

Great product, useful for helping parents. Care team has great people. Majority of practitioners are contractors and experienced and helping parents with deep belief in mission On the surface we get a lot of awards for being a great company to work for (don't believe the hype - those are based on latest employees who drink the koolaid but then most don't last more than 12-18 months).

Cons

Control based leadership team bully culture that comes straight from the top down. lies and suppression of dissent. All the strong leaders have left. Just ask how many Sr Directors + have been at the company more than 2 years. Hint - very few. major exits signal that Maven can't keep top performers and leaders who know what's happening at senior levels. if you disagree, you're out. and we haven't even talked about the RTO policy by a company that professes to care about working parents and diversity but forces people to commute hours to NYC office because that's what the CEO wanted. doesn't line up with mission of the company.

Pros

access to maven clinic network, $10k to use on maven itself mission driven good product

Cons

in the title. never have i been surrounded by more catty, manipulative people. the entire company culture is like high school. based on if you can get in with the cool girls - and yeah they're all white. for a company that is always touting the importance of maternal health for women of color, it's giving major ick. the others reviews about the toxic work culture are real. operationally, it's a mess. how is maven 10 years old and still operating like it's series b?

Pros

You will meet some extremely talented people, who are very passionate about the work they do. If you don't have to interact with Kate, you might actually enjoy your job.

Cons

-I've never worked in a place that operated more like a middle school. The amount of bullying by Kate and her inner circle is insane. I can't even count the number of times I found out from other employees that Kate was talking poorly about me behind my back in larger team meetings. If you can manage to fly under the radar and agree to anything she says, you'll do well here, otherwise you'll either be fired or pushed out. -Despite having an entire company of intelligent and qualified individuals, Kate would rather reach out to her friends and family for business advice. -Optics are more important than actual work done. As long as you're at your desk from 9am-7pm it doesn't matter if you're working or not. -There is a general lack of interest in diversity and inclusion, heavily influenced from top down -Surprisingly not a supportive/encouraging work environment for women, despite being touted as a "by women for women" company
