A mess

Pros

Really nice brand new store some of my co workers were really great people

Cons

Management was there but not present, management got involved in gossip and was quick to make decisions based off what others said and not off of the work people were doing. It was an atmosphere just like high school is portrayed in movies. There were clicks, tons and tons of gossip, everyone was late if they showed up at all, and it's obvious no one wants to be there.

Pros

Usually a fun work environment. Most fellow employees are motivated, good team atmosphere. Some room for advancement. 24 hour stores, so many schedules are available.

Cons

Company seems to be lacking good hiring practices. Very high turnover rate of employees at all stores. Some employees are allowed to get away with showing up hours late to their shift daily, while others are punished or fired for showing up 30 minutes late twice.

Thank you for sharing feedback about your experience working at Maverik. Hiring the right people is a key part of our successes not only in Idaho but in the other 10 states Maverik operates in. Maverik has implemented a number of resources that will help hiring managers in hiring the right people and retaining them. These include but are not limited to a new 50% discount on food and drink while on shift and a new scheduling system to get the right people in the store at our peak times.

Thank you for sharing information about your time at Maverik. Most stores pay $1 more an hour for a Lead Cashier and $2+ for Operations. Pay depends on experience and tenure so it will vary by person and location.
