Pros

You learn 5 years of healthcare knowledge in about 2. Great place to learn how to be a professional. You meet wonderful people (both field staff and branch staff). Homecare is a noble profession and highly regarded in the community. Decent training for clinical staff. If you're in a good branch, your experience is very positive and you work with some great people who are dedicated and committed to each other.

Cons

Senior management is all new and had not operated in a private duty nursing environment and has not experience in current business model.

Pros

I've found a lot of variety in the cases they accept therefore I have the opportunity to learn. Many of their clients are children with nice and very thankful families. They are very accomodating when you ask for time off. They will keep you as busy as you want to be. They are willing to pay overtime.

Cons

Very poor pay and inaccurate communication from office to medical staff. Examples: In-services planned-nurses show up only to find it was cancelled and "didn't anyone call you", unorganized, expensive benefits, short turn around to have paperwork in (pay week sunday to Saturday 7pm to 7am Sunday and they must be in office by Monday noon). Quick turnover of all staff-office and field. Calls are often not returned. Very frustrating at times to deal with all the "come up to the office to sign this, initial that, update this, annual that."
