On call- You have to be available to them 24/7. That really cuts down on personal time and the places you can go. E.g. the movies because the office may call you and need you to solve problems with the schedule. THIS IS EXPECTED OF EVERYONE, EVEN THE NEW PEOPLE

Current CIO has an old boys club mentality and takes a scorched earth policy to change. They ruined the family atmosphere that used to be the best part of Maxim. Worst communication and information sharing of anyplace I've worked. Zero work-life balance. IT Managers are techie geeks not real managers. Morale terrible because of layoffs and manager who can't manage. People hate coming to work but leadership doesn't notice or don't care. They only give you 6 paid holidays a year and the benefits at Maxim are a joke.
