Pros

Structured training, you’ll gain experience working in a big company, technical recruiting skills, exposure to insurance and hr duties

Cons

Homecare is probably the hardest department to work for. No work life balance if you care about the patients/people you serve. On call for a few days out of the week or a whole week (rotating w/ coworkers)- meaning if someone calls out at 4am for their shift you have to be responsible for taking the call and finding a replacement. Management did not care about COVID, pretty ironic considering they are a healthcare agency. Managers did not have your back- they would rather not rock the boat and bow down to more senior management instead of vouching for a wee little recruiter. HR also did not have your back. Sh*t pay for taking on the hardest role on the team (not including the frontline workers ofc) and the role that essentially keeps the whole thing running smoothly.

Run Away!

Pros

You might get a break because you will check yourself into a mental health institution working here. It was miserable, but I learned a lot....like to not be a human being and that corporations suck. If you are not making them money, be prepared to be fired.

Cons

Everything. This has to be twenty words long, but I could write you a twenty page essay on why this place sucks. I literally had to quit because my husband thought he would find me dead from suicide because I was so stressed at this god awful place. God does not exist here only Satan. And I mean that. Everyone you meet is evil, and if they are not, they do not stick around long. Please run so far away if they call you - they will ruin you as a person. And give you PTSD.

Pros

There are honestly very few pros to working here. The biggest one is simply that the work you will do has the potential to benefit local families. It is also nice that they are pretty flexible on your schedule, so if you frequently run late, you won't be penalized. That's very honestly it. There are not any other positives to working here.

Cons

Literally everything else. They are chronically understaffed and don't care enough to fix it. They give each employee the job tasks of at least 3 separate jobs and expect you to just figure it out. The recruiter position has an advertised 6-week training, however, I was responsible for training myself, alone, with absolutely no job aids. I worked countless 50 hour work weeks, on top of literally being on-call 24/7, without any overtime pay. The benefits are honestly trash for both in-office and in-field positions and corporate does. not. care. The local management is ridiculous. They spend upwards of 2 hours a day gossiping and bad-mouthing previous and current employees. They are impatient, belittling, and hypocritical. They preach self-awareness but aren't willing to acknowledge their contributions to the TOXIC environment. Promotions are dangled in front of literally everyone to keep them trying, but in over a year of working there, I never saw a single employee get promoted. On top of that, I watched several employees be retaliated against with hostility and INTENSE micromanaging, just for submitting a proper 2-weeks notice. Funny enough, one of the employees who resigned while I was there posted an honest Google review, and they had it taken down! Every single positive review this company has for the Salt Lake City office are from employees who were literally told by the Operations Manager that they had to post a positive review. I am 100% not exagerating when I say that I would rather flip burgers at McDondalds than work at Maxim again.
