Loved working with field nurses and patients. Learned alot about business growth that has aided career.
Pros
I learned alot about referral sourcing and company growth, compliance and quality assurance. I developed strong relationships with case managers of client companies that continue to be of help in my career. My experience was invaluable and highly marketable when seeking better opportunities, which unfortunately were all outside the company.
Cons
Operational managers have higher salaries, bonuses and benefits, awarded company stock and have greater career opportunities than Clinical leaders. Clinical leaders are not allowed to determine field nurse placement, scheduling or salary but only nurse competence. One only has to look at the high turnover of clinical leaders as opposed to tenure of operational leaders to see there are problems. Increasing company trend is to hire younger and less experienced leaders who are athletic and attractive. It's all about appearance and control versus experience when selecting internal positions, and since Maxim serves medically fragile patients, this is unwise and will have consequences.
